Job summary

For this position, the incumbent must work with the warehouse team to receive and store merchandise and prepare customer orders and products. This includes receiving, shipping, maintaining accurate inventory and providing excellent customer service. The incumbent reports to the Branch Manager.

Responsabilities

  • Comply with all Company rules regarding health and safety
  • Respect the standards concerning the appearance of the yard and the store
  • Unpack the materials and store them properly
  • Mount orders for pick-up, delivery and transfer
  • Rotate stocks according to the FIFO method (first in, first out)
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Ensure orders are properly picked, labeled and cross-checked
  • Assist customers with loading and unloading purchased or returned products
  • Complete the forklift checklist daily
  • Notify sales staff of any expired, damaged, or defective products
  • Prepare the documents and labels of the products to be shipped
  • Know and understand the safe methods of handling and storing hazardous materials
  • Inspect and verify products received and record missing items, reject damaged merchandise, and submit completed documents within the required time frame
  • Perform rotating inventories as required
  • Report any hazard or dangerous situation to the branch manager
  • Recommend rejection of shipments that are damaged or incorrect

Approval authority

  • Comply with all health and safety requirements

Performance measurement

  • Provide excellent customer service (customer survey)
  • Proper product rotation
  • Comply with the Company’s recycling program
  • High school certificate or equivalent work experience
  • 2 or more years of experience working in a warehouse (preferred)
  • 1 year or more driving a forklift (preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to push, pull and/or lift 80 pounds
  • Reliability, sense of initiative and ability to work on several tasks simultaneously
  • Strong customer service skills

Job summary

Responsabilities

  • Comply with all Company rules regarding health and safety
  • Assist in the upkeep and organization of the yard and warehouse
  • Cross-train shipper-receiver or roof loading manager to be able to take over as needed
  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers inside the store or calling the branch
  • Provide excellent customer service by phone, mail, email, online and at the counter to customers who come on site
  • Produce daily sales reports
  • Process invoices daily
  • Receive products in the P21 system
  • Ensure the distribution of P21 invoices by email, mail, fax
  • Order office supplies as needed
  • Make adjustments to prices in accordance with established rules
  • Create order slips
  • Organize and schedule deliveries
  • Execute merchandising in the store as directed by the Branch Manager
  • Ensure that the showroom is clean, organized and well stocked at all times
  • Place purchase orders and special orders
  • Maintain sample stock and order samples
  • Process returns of goods
  • Prepare quotes for clients
  • Check stock levels
  • Provide support to external representatives
  • Record cash receipts
  • Oversee the inventory taking process
  • Make bank deposits as directed and ensure there is sufficient change
  • Filing and organizing documentation
  • Receive and prepare packages
  • Follow up on purchase orders and prices with suppliers
  • Actively communicate with customers to promote products
  • Prepare the required reports; invoices, open orders…
  • Take care of entering inventory adjustments
  • Solve problems at the point of sale
  • Communicate with IT Services in the event of an IT problem and keep the Branch Manager informed
  • Assist the Branch Manager in ensuring Company property is well maintained
  • Liaise with the Credit Manager to ensure credit applications are processed as quickly as possible
  • Schedule delivery times and dates for all orders
  • Work with yard staff and drivers to ensure customer orders are met

Approval authority

Refuse products from suppliers if they are found to be damaged
Refuse products returned by customers if they are damaged

Performance measurement

  • Enter orders accurately, organize deliveries
  • Total number of invoices processed daily
  • Average Transaction Value per Invoice–Allied Sales
  • Total number of completed sales calls
  • Attendance and punctuality
  • Customer Satisfaction Survey
  • Post-secondary education degree in a business-related field preferred
  • 2+ years of retail sales experience – preferred
  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, and Windows applications
  • Autonomous and motivated person with a strong work ethic who excels within a team
  • Strong sales skills
  • Experience and comfort in dealing with executives and clients of all levels (entrepreneurs, homeowners, etc.)
  • Professional communication skills and the ability to listen, influence, and upsell on the phone and in person
  • Results oriented, self-motivated, passionate about success
  • Knowledge of the field of construction or repair of roofs, an asset
